Camping But Better

Remember camping as a kid? This is like that, but without the hassle of a tent, plus everyone is less fragrant from having access to a shower! The cabins are a great way to spend some family time together complete with camp fire building and marshmallow roasting. Bring some food to grill and settle in for a great retreat. We'll be back for sure!

"Truly a Home Away from Home!"

My family and I searched many rental properties in the New Braunfels area before finally deciding on this property. At first we were a little apprehensive as to location and convenience to local attractions, but were quickly relieved to find that we were just a short drive from New Braunfels, Gruene, San Marcos, San Antonio, and the many river activities available in the area! The sense of seclusion and tranquility that Geronimo Creek Retreat provides has been such a blessing to our family! There are so many things to do here! There has never been a dull moment! We have fished, kayaked, played ping-pong in the common room, cooked out on the deck, sat around the campfire at night, and the kids love to play on the playground in the yard! The owners are the nicest people that you could ever meet and have been exceptionally accomodating to any needs that may have arisen during our stay! They have provided us with numerous recommendations for restaurants, attractions, and shopping in the area, to which we have not been disappointed! During our stay, we went to the River Walk in San Antonio, Sea World (several times), outlet malls in San Marcos, shopping in Gruene, Natural Bridge Wildlife Safari and Caverns, and so many other places that I could not even begin to list them all! The cabins are impressively built and meticulously furnished with top of the line furniture, beds, and appliances. The grounds are consistently well maintained as well as beautiful and peaceful. Overall we have been pleased beyond measure and have already recommended this property to all of our friends and family! We can't wait to come back!

We had a great time. The house was very clean and comfortable. Large Master bedroom and 2 queens in the loft. One important note is that to get to the loft room you need to climb a narrow winding staircase - important to keep that in mind. Clean and well stocked bathroom and kitchen. If you enjoy birds we were there in mid march and saw several varieties of birds and ducks. Great little creek for swimming and fishing.

The cabin was amazing - great construction and design. Very peaceful area also. You should remind people to bring binoculars for bird watching. It was so enjoyable sitting on the deck in the mornings and drinking coffee. The location is convenienient and central to many places: Gruene, New Braunfels, Shiner, San Marcos, and San Antonio. This was the best spring break we have ever had. We will definitely be coming back. I'm not sure that I want to give this good of a review because I don't want everyone finding out about this place! Thanks for sharing your slice of heaven with us.

Awesome Girl's Getaway and Secluded Private Creek!

What a remarkable and relaxing place to stay! The listing pictures are exactly what you'll see when you arrive. When we came up the back road route, we were a little anxious, but soon discovered it was truly the perfect get-a-way we were looking for. Very clean. A group of six of us that have known one another since elementary school - and we've been friends for 40+ years (do the math!) stayed the weekend for a great girl's get-a-way! The owner was very kind and let us really enjoy all of the relaxing amenities on the property. Super large decks, nice tables, and plenty of room to enjoy views of the creek. Very close to Gruene/NewBraunfels area, too! Shared game room & hot tub!! :) Loved taking the kayak/canoes out for a paddle along the creek, and using the inner tubes to float around and cool down with a cold one! Relaxing picnic tables on the property, deck by the waterfront (and it's not a stretch of creek that has thousands of partying people floating down it -a very nice private swimming hole for sure!!) and, of course a rope swing that we "older" ladies opted not to try! What a great place for a family reunion or group. (I wouldn't highly recommend it for a secluded romantic get away, just because the house decks are connected if you don't rent both). But, really nice for a group of 4 - 12. Recommend making a day of it in Gruene. I'll definitely go back!

Great for a Getaway with Family and Friends

My extended family stayed at the Geronimo Creek Retreat in two of the cabins sharing an adjoining deck. What a lovely place to be for the weekend. The cabins, with their wall-to-wall front windows facing the creek, feel secluded and peaceful, but you're only about 20 minutes from the entertainments of New Braunfels. When at the cabins, we especially enjoyed the rope swing into the creek, the lovely decks, the hammocks for an afternoon nap, the fire pits where we roasted marshmallows at night and the comfortable beds and linens. There were many more amenities (clean hot tub, fully stocked game room, new flat screen televisions) that we didn't have time to utilize, but we hope to come back next summer to try them out.

Wonderful Family Getaway

So relaxing and beautiful! Everything and more of what we expected. Everything is new, clean, and very comfortable. Great location, we went to river and San Antonio during our stay! I am looking forward to going back!
